Date: 9th October 2014

Dear Parents / Carers,

Throughout this academic year we are working as a community to develop and embed the
notion of Responsibility.
With this in mind, our pupils are taking part in a world record attempt on Thursday 16 th October.
The event, launched in conjunction with the British Heart Foundation, is called Restart a Heart
Day. The challenge is to train pupils in CPR.
This is an official Guinness World Record attempt! An application has been submitted to have
this event recognised as the largest mass CPR training in a single day over multiple sites.
There are approximately 56 schools taking part across Yorkshire with around 12000 students
involved on the day. We have partnered with the British Heart Foundation who is providing:
12000 certificates for participants, 12000 freebies for the students, mannequins for each school
for the official Guinness World Record attempt.
If you do not wish your child to take part in this event please leave a message at the school
office.
Yours sincerely,

Mrs A M Scales
