Phonics
Activity Time
Vocabulary: Mommy, Daddy, Baby, Brother, Sister, Grandma, and
Grandpa.
Sentence structure: Who is this?.......(Mommy, Daddy, etc.)
Activities:
We will use the flash cards to help comprehend the vocabulary words. We
will use pictures and play games for better understanding. Games: Fly
Swat (to correctly choose the correct vocabulary word) and Corners (to
get the students activated and using all their built up energy). We will also
do a family coloring worksheet.
Song:
Finger family This song gets students activated and associating vocabulary with
an action. This will help the students not only memorize the vocabulary but
comprehend the words in a fun way.
Review
We will practice recognition without
the flashcards. Most students need
help with this still. We will only use
the letters themselves. l will go
over the sounds and songs for J,
Z, W, Y, X, Z and Q. We will play
the basketball game and sit in a
circle and roll the ball to a student.
That student will have to call out
the correct letter.
There are no new letters or sounds. We have already learned all of the Jolly Phonics letters. Now
we are practising recognition.
