Hispanic

Struggles:
Bachelors Degree
Michael Elizarraraz

Analysis of Data
From the information provided
from the U.S Census Bureau,
the data suggest that the races
that I identify with [Hispanic
and Mexican] have the least
amount of college graduates.
The possibility for me obtaining
a college degree is possible. I
have been given the entire
resources necessary, but due to
apathy my past test scores are
not what they could have been.
Hindering my possibility of
getting into College.

Contributing Factors
There are quite a few factors that suggests
the possibly for Mexicans and Hispanics
having the least amount of College degrees.
My father immigrated to Los Angeles when
he was a teenager with all of his family.
However, with little to no money to support
themselves everyone had to work. Working
full-time to support their own individual
families lead no time for education resulting
in none of my aunts and uncles receiving
Bachelors degrees. In addition, racial
discrimination influence could influence
college admissions member to deny an
applicate based on race.

Injustices From the Data.

To Simpson's paradox being that we dont know which
ethnicities had to work, and the others that had time to
study. If they had jobs, Families to support. There is simply
not enough evidence shown to know Whether or not to
support the claim that there is a bias out there. But from
the graph it shows that white, and Asian Americans have
earned the most bachelor degrees out of the other
ethnicities, and other under privileged races received the
lowest.

Positive Organizations!
Positive Crossroads: Mexican Consular
Assistance and Immigrant Integration is
an organization which includes
programs includes , scholarships for
Mexican high school students to attend
colleges and universities in the U.S.,
Mexican book donation drives and
diverse online educational programs.
Other important health-related
programs include Health Windows at
consular sites, national health fairs and
training for health promoters. Other
initiatives are focused on financial
education, events featuring Mexican
cuisine and sporting and cultural events.
In addition, there are several programs
that promote business development and

Own Proposal
Other activists that people could get involved with to help
underprivileged students get the education they deserve is to
place them in a school environment in which they feel safe and the
students around them are just as driven to earn an eduction as
they are. If you were to be in an uncomfortable environment for
eight hours of your day you would feel unsafe with your
surroundings, you will definitely not succeed in your studies. In
addition, if your fellow peers don't care about their personal
education, their apathy will rub off on you and demotivate your
drive to learn. So in conclusion I believe that we should have
programs similar to positive crossroads that assist those in need
throughout equity, but also changing the minds of individuals to
help their peers succeed and not hinder the education of others.
