ONLINE/DOWNLOADABLE JOURNAL

PROPOSED WEBSITE REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION

The online journal is a proposed quarterly magazine, which will be available as a website
through the sciarc.edu domain and via a standalone domain if possible.
Editability via a proxy server would be useful.
The content of the journal will be initially agreed upon and implemented by the members of the
Design of Theory Fellowship, under the supervision of Dora Epstein-Jones.
Broadly speaking, the journal will address current architectural topics in written, audiovisual and
image form.
The principle of the online/downloadable journal website will be a tumblr type, with a series of
clickable images available on the homepage leading to articles and media. The idea is to have an
easily searchable archive structure by name, date and content and possibly linked to other
resources, such as the SCI-Arc Media Archive.
In addition to its online interface, we envisage readers being able to download key articles,
drawings etc as PDFs - not necessarily as a fully formatted magazine - but in the raw.
http://www.kerez.ch/ is a good - if preliminary - example of what we are trying to achieve both
visually and in terms of site organization.

TIME LINES
THe Fellows are currently contacting specific contributors with a view to soliciting material for
publication during the first quarter of 2014.
We are also organising a general call for papers et al.
Any design work on the website site, would need to be completed by February 2014, if this
timeline is to be delivered - though clearly this will need to be discussed further.

homepage or be redirected to another page, depending on the type of content:
