Sandra Cisneros Life Summary

Sandra Cisneros was born in Chicago in 1954. She was the third child out of
seven, and the only girl. She worked for high-school dropouts as a teacher and counselor
through the arts. She taught creative writing at almost every level as well. Her written
works include Bad Boys, My Wicked Wicked Ways, Loose Woman, Woman Hollering
Creek and Other Stories, The House on Mango Street, Caramelo, and Vintage Cisneros.
Her books have been translated into over a dozen languages. Sandra Cisneros is a very
talented woman, and it’s safe to say that she has accomplished her childhood dream of
overcoming poverty and violence in her home.
