Motivacin

El grupo estudiantil Macrpolis nace hace quince aos como un espacio para
compartir inquietudes, dudas, hiptesis o gustos comunes que surgen en torno
a los temas tratados en los diferentes seminarios ofrecidos durante la carrera
de Economa y no pueden ser atendidos dentro de los espacios tradicionales de
discusin que tiene la facultad. Preguntas como Qu es la economa?, Cul es
el papel de las matemticas dentro de la economa? o, Cmo abordar temas
de teora econmica que no se estudian en el pensum desde el pregrado? son
indagaciones sobre las cuales se ha fundamentado el quehacer del grupo
desde su fundacin.

Traditional economics typically uses the simple "rational actor" model, where people perfectly maximize. We
will present models that are psychologically more realistic than this standard model. We will enrich the
standard model by incorporating psychological phenomena, including bounded rationality, bounded selfinterest, and bounded willpower. Applications will include decision theory, game theory, asset pricing, savings,
portfolio allocation, stock market predictability, neuroeconomics.
