Introduction
This online course will describe networks and their components, explain different
technology hardware found within the school and how to connect/disconnect them, and
explain how hardware interacts with the network.
Students
This technology course is for professional development of educational personnel
including, but not limited to teachers, administrators, and support staff that vary in
degree speciality, experience, and age. Approximate age for this group is 22 and up.

the network with 80% accuracy.
The student will be able to accurately name and identify all technology hardware located
around the school.
The student will be able to connect pieces of hardware to make it operable with 100%
accuracy for chosen item.
The student will be able to explain how different types of hardware interact with the
network.
Standards Addressed
Relative Advantage
The advantage to having this course is so teachers will be able to identify and connect
technology around the building, so an information technology specialist is not needed
for connection issues, how to connect and disconnect technology, and to understand
how a network affects them positively and negatively.
Timeline
3-Hour Professional Development Session
Materials
Computer, Google Slides Presentation, Smart Boards, Ipads/Ipad cart, Desktop

Grouping Strategies
The presentation will be given whole group. Small groups of 4-5 will be used for

disconnect).
