List of Equations Used:

Diagonal Lines
3x+12 =y
-3x+12 =y
-1x-8 =y
x-8 =y
x+14 =y
-1x-16 =y
-5x-10 =y
1x+0 =y or x =y

Horizontal Lines
X-axis Equation :
0x+0 =y or y=0
0x-5=y or y= -5

Explanation:
I first started with the y=0 equation because I wanted to set the
base of the stars point and I know that if I just put a value for y, the
outcome will result as a horizontal line across the x-axis. The next
equation I used was 3x+ 12 =y because that was the side of the stars
point. Like we have discussed in class, the greater the coefficient of x
is, the steeper the line/slope will be. Since I needed the line to be
moderately steep, I chose 3 as the coefficient of x for the equation. I
added 12 to the 3x because the 3x alone does not create the point of
the star. This made the line shift more to the left of the x-axis which
added on to the point of the star. For the other side of the point, I used
the equation -3x+12 =y because to finish the point of the star, I
needed a reflection of the 3x+12 =y line equation. -3x12 =y + was a
copy of the 3x+12 =y equation but the -3 created the reflective copy
that completed the point of the star.

The following equation that I used was -1x-8 =y. I used it as the
structure of the arm and leg of the star. Since, the line was not very
steep, I used 1 as the coefficient of x and subtracted 8 which lowered
and shifted to the left of the plane (more into Quadrant IV). Again,
since I needed a reflection of the previous equation, I used the
absolute value of the coefficient |-1| = 1; 1x-8 (which =y). This
completed the star. Because I thought the star was too obvious and
that it stood out, I added in more equations to create a cluster of stars.
The equation I inputed was 1x+ 14 =y. Frankly, this equation was just
a distraction-line to confuse the viewers on finding the star. But later
on, the line came into handy. After that, I used the equation -1x-16 =y
because I found out that I could use this line to hitchhike on to the
big stars leg and create another star that would eventually make the
design into a cluster of stars. The equation made the line into the leg
of the star. As for the other leg, I used the equation -5x-10 =y. Same
methods, because I need the structure of the leg to be steep, I used a
larger coefficient of x. To complete the full design of the hitchhiking
star, I used the equation 0x-5 =y since if the coefficient of x is 0, the
line will always result as a horizontal line on the x-axis. But for the
completion of the star, the line should be lowered 5 units so, 0x-5 =y.
My last equation was 1x+0 =y. The reason was because I spotted
a incomplete star with just one line mission from its completion. So to
complete the star, I added 1x+0 =y or simply 1x =y. After that, I
looked around the whole design and saw that the supposedly
distracting line was part of an unintentionally created star, a
Hexagram. I also noticed that there was another hexagram on the right
side of the design.
One of the many things that I have learned in this assignment
was that if you want to create a reflective line of another line, you have
to take its equation, copy it, then input the negative sign to the
coefficient of x if it is positive and if the coefficient of x is negative, you
add the positive sign (or absolute value) and put back the linear
equation replacing the initial coefficient of x with the new one.
