POP TABS

NEWS AND NOTES

We have collected 101,036 since our first

newsletter. Great Job! Our goal is to
collect one million tabs. The container is at
the ICES office in which to deposit collected
tabs. Get your friends and neighbors to
help and we will reach our goal quickly. We
will keep you informed each newsletter of

the latest count. Keep up the good work

and bringing those tabs so we may collect
one million tabs this year for Ronalds
House.

ANNUAL CARRIE CLAYBURN

MEMORIAL DINNER

The Annual Carrie Clayburn Memorial

Dinner will be Friday, January 30, 2015.
The dinner begins at 5 PM at the Indian
Creek High School Cafeteria. Please come
and enjoy a wonderful dinner. All the
proceeds will be used to sponsor
scholarships in Carries name.

ICES SPRING SING

The students are working diligently to
make sure they have a great performance.
The ICES Spring Sing for First Grade will
be Wednesday, March 18 at 7 PM. The
Second Grade will be Thursday, March
19 at 7 PM. This event will take place at
the ICES gymnasium. Make plans to attend!

YEARBOOK ORDERS
We are now taking yearbook orders thru
Friday,
February 27. The yearbook includes
pictures of our students, staff, and many of
our school activities. The price for the
yearbooks this year will be $14.50. So, do
not miss out and get your order in soon

LOST AND FOUND

Our lost and found is getting BIGGER each
day! We have coats, sweatshirts,
lunchboxes, and many other items. Please
have your child check and see if they are
missing any items.

KINDERGARTEN
REGISTRATION
Kindergarten registration for the 20152016 school year will be held on Tuesday,
April 21. The times you may register your
child are 9:00 AM 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM
2:30 PM and 6:30 PM 8:00 PM in the ICES
cafeteria. You will need to bring your
childs birth certificate ( from the county
health department), current immunization
records, and social security card. In
addition, you will need to bring your child
with you when you register. They will go
through a screening process. If you have,
any questions please feel free to call the
office at 317-878-2150.

ICES SKATING PARTY

Make plans to attend our next school
skating party. It is scheduled to take place
on Friday, February 20 at the Franklin Skate
Club from
4:30 PM- 6:30 PM. Admission at the door is
$3.00 and skate rental is $2.00. Hope to
see you there.

CHARACTER COUNTS
February is Fairness month at ICES.
Students will be learning about what it
means to be fair. Being a fair person
means you play by the rules, take turns
and share, and be open-minded and listen
to others. Please work with your family at
home to discuss how fairness is a part of
your familys life.

TRAFALGAR PRESCHOOL
OPEN HOUSE
Trafalgar Preschool is having open an
house and registration on Tuesday, March 3
from 6:00 PM 7:00 PM at the Trafalgar
Christian Church. For more information,

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

The kick off for Jump Rope for Heart will be
held on Wednesday, February 4. This
event will be held on your childs PE day
and will take place Monday, February 23
February 27. This event helps students
learn about the benefits of regular physical
activity and heart health while they raise
funds to support vital research for the
American Heart Association and
educational programs. Your student will be
bringing home more information on
Wednesday, February 4.

If you have received a notice for lunchroom
charges, your cooperation with this matter

is greatly appreciated.

PARENT TIPS
Listening to your child read:
Offer encouragement. Pointing out what
your child does well can help him do it
again. (Your voice sounded growlyjust
like a bearwhen you read that line!)
Idea: If he/she stumbles over a word here
and there, tell him/her what it is so he/she
doesnt get frustrated and can continue
reading. If he hesitates over too many
words, let him pick an easier book.
