Driving progress

Horomill, a major breakthrough

for a sustainable industry

Horomill key factors for excellence in grinding

Concepts

Horomill,
more than 50 industrial references worldwide

Leading cement and slag producers choose the Horomill for its competitive advantages
Easy operation and high product quality

Advantages

Excellent process stability and finished product quality

Fully automatic operation including start/stop
Highest flexibility for operation with various products
Capacity not sensitive to wear

In-bed compression comminution

Energy savings

Multicompression during one

pass through the mill

Cement quality

Material centrifugation

Operation stability

Medium pressure resulting

of enlarged grinding surface

Limited mechanical stresses

Low wear

Sustainable grinding plant

Lowest energy consumption
Valuation and recycling of waste such as blast furnace slag, fly ash, etc
Zero pollution
Low noise level
Zero water consumption

Key components
A shell driven at supercritical speed
A roller applied on the material bed by means of hydraulic jacks
Material fed from one side and ground several times between the shell and the roller
Compact integrated drive (similar to ball mill)

Low quantity of material in the circuit

Fully automated sequences and recipes
No loss of intermediate product

Multipurpose mill range

The Horomill provides solutions for your multipurpose or specific
needs. Typical examples of Horomill sizing:
CEM I

Outlet
Horomill

4-6 grinding
actions

Energy savings
Grinding by bed compression, the Horomill covers the same
application fields as conventional ball mills, vertical roller mills or
roller presses. Industrial results of Horomill operating worldwide
have shown energy savings ranging between 35% and 60%.

Bypass (optional)

reject flow

Scrapers

Centrifugation zone

No need of water injection (leading to lower wear and lower

thermal consumption)
Positive effect of grinding aids for CEM I production, and no
need for composite cement or slag
Identical mills for raw meal and cement (including spare parts)
Low wear rate

Simple plant design

Installing the Horomill is easy, within a very limited space. The arrangement
of the Horomill and its auxiliary equipment such as TSVTM classifier, filter and
bucket elevator may be particularly compact, while ensuring good access
and easy maintenance.

Material speed control system

Scrapers

Low operation cost

Hot gases supply

(optional)

Flexibility and quality

One of the main advantages of the Horomill lies in its production flexibility
thanks to the small quantity of material in the grinding and separating
circuit (less than 10 tons in a 100 tph Horomill cement circuit). The
resulting short response time coupled with the full and accurate automation
of the Horomill allows for a quick transition phase when processing several
products or qualities. The plant is operated in fully automatic mode, even
during the recipe changes.
