Kickball Rules
February 14th 10:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
*When not specified, generic Baseball or Softball Rules apply*

Article I: Game Setup


1. A maximum of 10 defensive players are allowed on the field at any time, 3 of
which must be females. No position specification is required by male or
female players.
2. Kicking and Fielding rotations must be submitted BEFORE the game begins. A
minimum of the amount of defensive players on the field must be in the
kicking lineup, and all players playing defensively must be in the kicking
lineup. Additional players can be added to the kicking lineup at the teams
discretion (no maximum), but lineup cannot change the amount of players in
the kicking lineup once the game has started except in case of injury.
3. No more than 2 males may kick in a row in a single run through the lineup. If
the last player in lineup is male, and the first 2 players in the lineup are male,
then 3 males in a row are permitted. There is no limit in maximum female
players kicking in a row.
4. A players position in the kicking lineup cannot be change and all
substitutions are permanent.
5. The game will last 6 innings with visitors team kicking first and home team
kicking second. There is no maximum run limit per inning, but teams losing
by 15 runs after 4 or 5 innings will be eliminated via Mercy Rule. If in the
case of extra innings, another inning is added until a team has won.

Article II: Game-Play


1. No base stealing or lead offs are allowed. A baserunner must remain on base
until the ball is kicked. If a player leaves early, the baserunner will receive a
warning and a second violation will result in the baserunner being called out.
2. The pitch count will start at 1 1. Any pitch that is bouncing should be called
a ball before the ball reaches home as to avoid conflict. If 4 balls are reached,
the player is given first base. If 3 strikes are reached, the player at bat is out.
If a player reaches 2 strikes and kicks two balls foul while at 2 strikes, the
player is out.
3. Bunting is allowed, but the ball must roll past the cones set pre game. If a ball
fails to reach the cones it is considered a strike, a failed bunt with 2 strikes is
automatically an out.
4. A fly ball is considered foul if it lands foul. A ground ball is considered foul it
fails to make it past 1st or 3rd base in fair territory.
5. A ball that is struck by an object in foul territory is considered a dead ball and
will count as a foul ball. A ball that becomes lodged in fair territory will result
in a ground-rule double and all runners advance 2 bases.

6. Players may be struck with the ball to achieve an out. Any player that is
struck in the face (not back of the head) will receive the base he/she is
attempting to reach and an addition base aka players advancing will receive
the base plus one, while players retreating will receive the next base. Any
player attempting to attention be struck in the face will be called out. A ball is
not allowed to bounce and hit a runner. The runner in this situation will be
safe.
7. A player cannot advance on a fly ball until the ball is either caught, bobbled,
dropped or touched in any form. A player prematurely advancing will be call
out. No infield fly rule exists in this game.

Article III: Sportsmanship, Game Management, and Safety


1. Teams must be present at the exact time of their game. Any team that is not
present five minutes after scheduled game time will be considered tardy and
forfeit.
2. A team can be considered present with at least 8 players (3 of which still
must be female). Late players may be added to the end of the lineup and
join. Additionally late players may be substituted if 10 players on the roster
have already been reached.
3. No sliding into a base in permitted for safety reasons. A player may dodge,
dip, duck, dive, and dodge to avoid being beamed with a ball. However, a
player must remain stay within the baseline within reason at the discretion of
the umpire.
4. All complaints must be made by team captain to the Umpire with penalty of
an out being given at the Umpires discretion.
5. All teams must have 4 umpires available to umpire other games.
