Why teaching pronunciation?
A consideration of learners pronunciation errors and of how these can inhibit successful communication is a useful basis on which to assess why it is important to deal with pronuncition int he classsroom. For example : Soap in a situation such as a restaurant where they should have said soup, the unaccurate production of a phoneme can lead to misunderstanding.
Some children might start with English earlier. Some
elementary schools introduce English teaching in the first or second year (when the children are 6 or 7 years old) and still some children might have started in the preschool age, i.e. in the kindergarten. But nevertheless the majority of children will start in the 3rd grade as teaching a foreign language is compulsory from this age.

There are several factors influencing the
pronunciation of the L2 learners. That is: the first language interference by interference of mother language, learners age, learners attitude and psychological, prior pronunciation instruction, and the insufficient language knowledge of English phonology and phonetics. (Zhang, 2009 : 142)
