To Whom It May Concern:

My goal is to teach students grades 7-12 social studies. I am currently enrolled in Tarleton State
Universitys TMATE certification program and considered highly qualified as a grades 7-12
social studies teacher.
My motivations for teaching are to encourage the students to be the best they can be in their
every endeavor, to get the best performance out of every student in my class, and to both inspire
and increase their interest in social studies. I have experience working with teenagers through
serving as a youth mentor at our church and through substitute teaching from grades 3-12.
During my time as a substitute, I observed firsthand the diversity in learning styles within the
population of a classroom and realized the necessity of teamwork in addressing the individual
needs of every student.
I believe my experiences make me an ideal candidate for your teaching position and am eager for
an opportunity to share both my philosophy for education and my passion for social studies.
