Applications are invited on the prescribed forms for PhD admissions to the following
discipline in Engineering:

ADMISSION NOTICE
PhD ENGINEERING 2010-ENTRY
a) Civil Engineering
b) Electrical Engineering
c) Mechanical Engineering
d) Computer Engineering
1.

The candidate must have passed M.Sc. Engineering or equivalent in the relevant
field of Engineering recognized by the University. The minimum CGPA should
be 3.00 or First Division in MS/MPhill.

Admission to PhD program will be made on competitive basis subject to the

availability of the Supervisor in the relevant field of specialization.

The candidates must pass subject GRE Subject (International) or GAT-Subject

test conducted by NTS for admission in PhD Engineering (60% minimum score).
In disciplines where this test is not available, locally developed test will be
required to be passed by the applicant.

4.

Minimum duration for completion of PhD degree will be three years. This period
may be extended up to maximum of five years.

5.

Prospectus including application form will be available from 16-7-2010 from the
Directorate of ASR&TD office of the University & Habib Bank Ltd., UET,
Taxila Branch on cash payment of Rs. 400/- .

Two copies of the prescribed forms duly filled in and supported by the attested
copies of Educational Certificates/Degrees and proposed research work must
reach the Directorate of ASR&TD.

The Candidates can apply for admission any time whenever they fulfill the
eligibility criteria.

Suitable candidates in the area of Signal Processing may be awarded scholarship

under the project Endowment for Higher Education and R&D in IT & Telecom
Sector for Postgraduate Research in Signal Processing, with a scholarship of
amount Rs.18000/-per month.
