SCYCLE FOR LiFE CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION February 2014 To Whom It May Concern: ‘The Westem Pennsylvania Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will hold its second annual CF Cycle for Life event on September 14, 2014. This event challenges pariicipants to ride 30, 62, or 100 miles through some of Western Pennsylvania's most beautiful and scenic terrain. CF Cycle for Life is not a race, but rather a ride that raises money to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects 30,000 children and adults in the United States. The disease compromises the respiratory system and digestive tract of those affected, bringing difficulty to ordinary activities like eating and breathing. Through GF Cycle for Life, our goal is to raise at least $85,000 for medical research and care programs that will improve the lives of those living with CF. We recognize that as a Bike PGH member, your company is one with an interest in the Pittsburgh cycling scene, and this event is set to be one of the premier cyciing events in the region. We invite you to help. us reach our goal by participating in this exciting event There are many ways in which to participate in CF Cycle far Life. One is to become a cash sponsor, and join the ranks of those companies who help make our event so successful by providing it with vital financial support. Cash sponsors will receive a variety of meaningful marketing opportunities in exchange for their donations, including product sampling and onsite exposure to our spectators, volunteers, and nearly 300 cyclists. We have opportunities ranging from $500-$15,000, but we think the “Rest Stop Sponsor’ level on the fourth page of the attached sponsorship materials would be a great opportunity for your company. Another way in which to support our event is to provide in-kind donations. Companies who choose this ‘option will help us to reach our goal by providing tangible items or gift certificates. These items can be used as prizes that incentivize our riders and ensure their fundraising success. Alternatively, they can bo given away on-site as a means of both promoting your company and engaging our participants. With ragard to both cash and in-kind sponsorship, donations are fully tax-deductible. You may also participate by recruiting team of no less than four employees or colleagues to ride in the event on September 14".
