Genetically Modified Organisms
Genetically modified organisms pose a threat to human health because businesses dont
list the contents of the food, for instance someone who is lactose intolerant needs to know
whether they can eat the food or not. GMOs dont only make it hard for someone with allergies,
but they also usually contain more calories than a naturally grown organism. We are here to
discuss multiple questions. These questions will possibly increase your knowledge on genetically
modified organisms.
What is protein synthesis in simple terms; First off it is one of the most fundamental
biological processes where cells build their own proteins individually. In all this process includes
deoxyribonucleic acids and ribonucleic acids. The process starts in the nucleus; specific enzymes
start to unravel the essential section of DNA, the DNA is then accessible and the RNA can now
copy the DNA. The ribonucleic acid can then be transported to the cell cytoplasm where protein
synthesis actually takes place.
There are multiple ways of genetic engineering, but this is one of the most vital
processes. The Plasmid method, there are almost five directions to this process. A plasmid is a
small section of DNA is placed in a container with restriction enzyme. The two work together
until they have divided up the plasmids. The cut pieces of plasmids are then inserted into

bacteria. The sticky ends of the bacteria allow the deoxyribonucleic acid the combine with each
other and fuse a deoxyribonucleic acid molecule ring. Other enzymes are then used make the
ringed DNA molecules more firm in the container. The DNA rings are then stored for further
processes, live bacteria is then placed in with the plasmids, the plasmids enter the bacteria and
start articulating as soon as they enter the cell. They then separate the plasmid bacteria from the
non plasmid bacteria.
GMOs are unhealthy for the human body for instance; researchers in China have found
RNA blood and organs of people who consume rice. The genetic material in rice has the effect
of binding to receptors in the human liver,( The Nanjing University-based team). This then
influences the uptake in cholesterol in somebodies blood.
I strongly believe genetically modified organisms are bad for the human body. Based
from the facts I would hope that you would also disapprove of companies doing this. Please help
us fight this matter by voting yes on proposition 37. It is causing people harm and or death and if
you dont think that is enough to persuade you then I dont know what would.
