Dear Parents,

We are happy to be starting our Puppet Project. Every week, one student will take home our
class puppet, Socks the Monkey. He will go home with a journal and special pen all within a bag. He
will travel to students' homes to spend time with their family and friends. This will be a time where
students will write about their adventures they have over the weekend in our Class Journal. During the
weekend, the student may read to the monkey, take the monkey to a friend's house, out to eat at a new
restaurant or place, and so much more! The goal is to build community by having students to share
their experiences with other students by practicing sight words, new vocabulary, strengthening their
reading and writing skills, and most importantly using and building English language skills.
The class puppet will go home with a student on Friday and will be returned to school on
Monday. On Monday, the student will share what he/she did with the class pet by reading their journal
entry from our Class Journal aloud to the class. In the back of the journal, there are a list of sight words
and vocabulary words that we have been learning in school. Students may use these words or others as
wells as pictures in their writing to express what they did over the weekend. It is important to keep our
class pet clean and safe because every student would like to get a chance to take home our class pet. I
am excited about all the adventures our class puppet will have with our students!

Apreciados Padres,
Estamos felices de empezar nuestra Proyecto de Marioneta. Cada semana, un estudiante
llevara a la casa una marioneta, Calcetn el Mono. El vendr a la casa con un diario y una lapicera
especial todo en una bolsa. El viajara a la casa de los estudiantes para pasar tiempo con la familia y
amigos. Este ser tiempo para que los estudiantes escriban acerca de su aventura que tuvieron durante
el fin de semana en el Diario de la Clase que escriba su aventura en la casa. Durante el fin de semana,
el estudiante le puede leer, llevar al mono a la casa del amigo, comer a un restaurante o lugar y muchas
otras cosas! La meta es de construir comunidad por medio de que los estudiantes compartan
experiencias con otros estudiantes y practicar palabras sight, nuevo vocabulario, mejora habilidades de
lectura y de escribir, y la ms importante usando habilidades de Ingles.
La marioneta de la clase vendr a la casa el Viernes y debe de regresar a la escuela el da Lunes.
El da Lunes el estudiante compartir su experiencia con la mascota de la clase y tendr que leer su
diario a la clase. En la pgina de atrs del diario esta una lista de palabras sight y palabras de
vocabulario que estamos aprendiendo en la escuela. Estudiantes pueden usar estas y otras palabras
tambin y dibujos para expresar lo que paso durante el fin de semana. Es importante que mantengamos
a nuestra mascota de clase limpia y segura porque todos los estudiantes quieren llevar la mascota a la
casa. Estoy emocionada de todos las oportunidades de aventura que tendr la mascota de la clase con
nuestros estudiantes!
