How to Use the OKMS Library Catalog

1. Get Started!
At school: Select the Library Catalog Icon on any computer
OR
At Home: Go to
http://hcps2.hanover.k12.va.us/okms/index.htm and click
on Library; on the next page, select Library Catalog.
2. Select Oak Knoll Middle School.
3. Click the Catalog Tab.
4. In the FIND bar, search by keyword, title, author, subject, or
series; then, use the enter key.
5. If your search yields too many results, return to the search
page and try choosing among Narrowing your search to
In this section, you can enter material type, a reading level
range (for example: if you are in grade 6 and are on grade
level and want to choose among books that are either
slightly above or slightly below grade 6, enter 5 to 7), an
interest level range (using the same method), or a reading
program such as Reading Olympics.
6. If you choose the POWER SEARCH tab, you can enter more
search words, publication year, or a call number.
