*Renewal by Synergy CERPs (Continuing Education Recognition Points) is an AACN

(American Association of Critical-Care Nurses) Synergy Model of Care to allow for a consistent
framework for certification. 1 Contact Hour of Education = 1 CERP in most instances with the
exception of academic courses wherein 1 credit hour = 15 CERPs. Along with some individual
CEs, I have been obtaining many CERPS from my individual courses, as you can note from the
log above. AACN also credits the holistic/synergistic practice of activity participation in
preceptorship, committee work, and membership duties as CERP units. As you will note, this
leads me to be a more well-rounded advanced practitioner.
