Mr. Juarez
1. The conditions in the suburban school were so much better because
it was a newer built school. The science labs were state of the art so
they found funding for those to be incorporated into the school. The
students also had computer labs so they used schools very well. The
parent involvement and the students being involved in extracurricular
activities helped play a key role in the environment of the school body.
In the inner-city school, the school was completely different than the
suburban school. This was because obviously, the school was older.
The classroom wasn't painted, was missing chairs for some of the
students, and the ceiling tiles were missing. I think a key difference in
the two schools is the lack of funding that the inner-city school
received compared to the suburban. I am sure the parents contributed
to the suburban school as well.

2. I think the key to academically successful children in the inner-city

school has no effect on money. It is what is made of the teacher's skills
of how to get their students to achieve what they need to. The
students can be just as successful as the suburban school because Mr.
Juarez has the ability to become involved in the child's ability to
become successful; a teacher can greatly impact the child's success.
3. The students in the urban school are able to drop out, become
pregnant, and not attend college due to the parent involvement. Parent
involvement helps get students to excel academically. If the parents
are involved, they are more apt to have their children to do well in
school. The teachers play the role of a parent when it comes to an
urban school setting (at times). The children can also be involved in
negative environments (drugs, rapes, etc.) that can impact their
success at academics.
