Experiences at the University of Kansas (KU) will never fade in my mind.

In the Fall semester,

I took language classes at the Applied English Center (AEC) to improve my language skills, and my
English proficiency has improved so much. I also attended information technology (IT) and teacher
training classes, which I find very useful. Besides, I participated in many extracurricular activities such
as library tours, farm tours, volunteer work at Jubilee caf and retirement centre. Spending
Thanksgiving with an American family, visiting my teachers houses, and attending President Obamas
speech at KU are my most unforgettable experiences. These activities provided me great opportunities
to interact with native speakers and widen my knowledge about American life styles, customs as well
as culture.
When I come back Vietnam, I will apply new teaching methods which integrate IT into my
teaching and help my students improve their language skills. I will also guide my students to use IT
tools such as Pinterest, Quizlet, Tagxedo etc and some authentic websites to self study. I intend to
cooperate with my provincial English Specialist to carry out some teaching and learning English
workshops to train other teachers. I will share new teaching methods, websites, Apps and IT tools I
have learned here with them. I am going to hold a pronunciation course in my hometown which will
help my fellow teachers improve their pronunciation and methods of teaching it. I hope that my
colleagues will benefit much from the knowledge I share with them and enhance their teaching and
learning English in my province in near future.
In conclusion, I would like to express my deep thanks to the U.S. Department of states

Bureau of Education & Cultural Affairs that brought us this wonderful chance to study here and AECs
teachers and staff who always stand by us and help us foster our English proficiency, IT ability and
teaching methods.
