Intake Supervisor

The Intake Supervisor provides direct oversight of the Intake Department regarding client admissions, transfers
and discharges from the agency. Serves as a support for supervisors for new admissions to ensure that all aspects
of the admission plan have been completed and ensures that occupancy standards in all mental health residential
programs are maintained.
Responsibilities:
Supervise Intake Specialists who are responsible for all pre-admission activities and outreach.
Provide management for all agency referrals including pre-screening, contacting providers and the
scheduling of intake interviews.
Maintain status of 350+ beds through assessment of potential openings, discharges and movement within
agency, including weekly reports on agency waiting list and vacancies.
Ensure that Intake Specialists collects all necessary background and required documentation and the
completion of assessment forms and admission notes.
Develop and oversee Outreach Plans to ensure referral sources are informed of placement opportunities
Ensure that established occupancy outcomes are maintained at all times.
Lead weekly Admissions Committee meetings where dispositions of potential residents are determined.
Communicate (verbal and written) effectively with providers, referral sources, and SPA personnel.
Represents agency at Single Point of Access (SPA) meetings.
Manage CAIRS reporting system for both community residence and supported housing programs.
Ensure that vacancies are filled and tracked according to specific contract requirements.
Ensure that new applicants are receiving entitlements and that linkages have been established to ensure
consumers will follow up with identified steps to obtain benefits if they do not.
Provide assistance and direction to supervisory staff working with existing residents on complex or unusual
matters such as spend-downs, fair hearings, appeals, Medicaid eligibility, denials, etc.
Maintain awareness of current entitlement policies. Participate in trainings and meetings.
Qualifications:
Must meet standards for designation as Qualified Mental Health Staff (QMHS).
Bachelors degree in a mental health or other human services related discipline. At last two years of experience
working with persons with psychiatric disabilities. At least one year of experience conducting intakes in a
residential setting for individuals with disabilities. Masters degree preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Valid drivers license required. An alternative combination of credentials and experience may be substituted for
educational requirements.

Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
