Goal

Setting --Beginning of Semester

What is the goal or challenge Describe the reason you selected this wondering.
to be met (frame as a

wondering)? To which FEAP Reading through the list of practices one can do, I noticed that
does this goal/challenge
many of them are very crucial. The two FEAPs chosen fit into
apply?
this category and are essential in any classroom. There always

seems to be a problem with organization and time usage. I
a. Organizes, allocates, and would like to improve upon this and slowly master it that way
manages the resources of
students can take away the most from every day. This I feel
time, space, and attention;
will satisfy the teachers, students and even parents. Along

with this time and resource management, there has to be
a. Deliver engaging and
good things done during it. This is by delivering engaging and
challenging lessons;
challenging lessons that students will get the most out of.

They have to feel the improvement within themselves to
progress each day; and this occurs only through a strong and
thorough agenda. I believe these two go hand in hand are
fundamental skills to have as a new teacher.

In what ways can you collect data to document your growth in
this area?

To collect progress data in these areas we need to have a daily
schedule and follow along to see how much of it is completed
each day. These daily progress assessments will also
supplemented by feedback from my CT and will be adjusted
accordingly. To test the comprehension of the students in a
subject matter, there will have to be tests given to see how
much they retain and what areas need more work. Weekly
charts and progress reports can be helpful too. If at anytime
organization is slipping or resources wasted, there will have
to be adjustment.

What are your next steps?
How will you work toward
meeting your goal?

To insure these goals are met
there has to be a set
procedure to follow each day.
I will start by first developing
this lesson plan, which uses
time wisely, and puts good
use to the resources available.
This can be met by small
lessons throughout the day
and replacing empty breaks
with educational and fun
activities. The lessons have to
be at the grade level I am
teaching and has to be drilled
in each day. This learning can
be supplemented by videos,
which promote mental
growth. Coursework should
be given according to
standardized testing. This is
to be sure that every student
is being well challenged and
not wasting time with things
they already know or
becoming frustrated with
excessively difficult material.

What support do you need from your collaborating teacher to
grow in this area?

I would need a good amount of support from by collaborating
teacher since I will be tapping from her well of experience in
managing the students. He critique and criticisms will be
taken into account of how well I achieve our mutual goals. I
would need for her to assess me as well as the students, make
sure everything is on track and that her confidence in me is
present. With her as a role model I can emulate some of the
important features that will bring about a successful class.

What support do you need from your supervisor to grow in
this area?

My supervisor also plays a key role in the success of this
project by reviewing the steps I take from a managerial
position. She has good insight of what needs to be done and
how I can go about doing these. I never feel restricted in
asking her for advice on how to go about something. She has
taught me and supported me emotionally in the past and this
continued support would be appreciated.

How will you know you have

made progress toward your
goal?

Progression to the goal can be
measured by students
improved performance. This
usually is seen from quizzes
and tests but it can also be
taken in part by how well
they do on daily assignments.
The aptitude and cooperation
of students is vital for
continuing success; so this
always has to be monitored
carefully. The simplest
method is to receive feedback
from each individual child
and they will either express
their approval or
dissatisfaction with the
system. This in all will be a
good indicator of progress.
