the following):
Substituting

Augmentation

Modification Redefinition

Learning is student led and creates an atmosphere of collaboration.

Students are engaged and focused on the task at hand.
Teacher is moving around room, assisting students that need additional attention.
Comments: Students are all working separately, editing video they have already shot for
multiple purposes. Teacher is moving around, assisting students when they need it.
Students are at individual computers and working in an editing program.

2 TECHNOLOGY IS USED FOR RESEARCH AND DATA

Students use appropriate websites and tools that apply to the lesson.
Technology is age appropriate and encourages engagement.
Technology and outcomes are clear and present (displayed on board)
Students have knowledge in the technology used (prior use/engagement)
Comments: It is obvious that students are familiar with the editing tool they are using. The
board displays the classes learning targets Chatter Newscast Episode 18-Feb 9-15 and
broken down by days of the week and what sections are being worked on. Students are on
task and contributing their own editing features to the videos.

3 TEACHERS RESPONSIBILITIES
Teacher is flexible and makes adjustments to lesson when needed.
Students are given verbal instructions in any shift in the lesson/learning.
Classroom is organized and clean, allowing for maximum lesson time.

Classroom behavior and management is clear, is as student expectations for behavior.

Comments: There was no obvious signs of transition in the lesson. However, the classroom
is organized with three rows of computer on one side, 3 computers in each and 4 rows on
the other side, 3 computers in each, for a total of 21 MAC computers. Students stay on
task the entire time.

4 STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITES/UNDERSTANDING
On a scale of 1-5, how comfortable do the students look on the technology? 5
Students show initiative and creativity on the technology being used.
Students appear to know what they are learning and what their outcomes should look like.
Students are the center of the learning.
Comments: Noticed one student incorporated popular music (Imagine Dragons song) with the
video he was editing. Students are using sound effects to add to the clips they are working on.
Students also are collaborating together. Some are pairing up and discussing what the other should try
out. Students stay engaged the entire lesson.
