vision, & overall health),
fewer nutrient deficiencies,
pest resistant crops,
extended growing seasons,
etc.
32-58% of U.S. consumers
have heard of biotechnology
or genetically modified
organisms. 27% of
consumers supported it until
informed of benefits coming
from these techniques. The
number of supporters
increased to 62%.
Over the past decade, 300
million hectares of modified
crops were grown with no
documented adverse effect
on humans or animals. The
longer term effects are still
unknown.
