World War II kicked off in 1939, and lasted until the spring of 1945. The allied forces
were made up of United States, France, and Great Britain and eventually the Soviet Union, on
the axis side was Germany, Italy and Japan. This paper is going to be the in depth reasons on
why the Nazi Party was defeated in World War II. People say that the Germans had better
equipment and more quality soldiers and they still lost. This paper will tell you how the domestic
side of the war caused Germany to be defeated and how the Allied Powers worked together to
defeat the Nazi party on a two-front war.

Beckelhaupt, Anne. Personal Interview. Feb. 9, 2015.

Anne Beckelhaupt is a history teacher at Walla Walla High School, in Walla Walla, Washington
and has been a teacher there for about ten years. She has a Masters Degree in United States
History from Gonzaga University. I am planning to use this interview to explain how the attack
and retreat from Germany on the eastern front was costly for them in the war, especially the fact
that the treaty between Hitler and the Russians was broken with the Nazi invasion of Russia to
the winter driving out the Nazis back across Europe.
Beevor, A. (2002). Berlin: The Downfall 1945, NY: Viking-Penguin Books. p. 342.
This book written by Beever is a detailed text on the events in World War II, but what is different
about his text is that he is describing the war from the point of the German side which a lot of
American kids do not get to really experience anymore. He explains many things that the
German people began to learn about what Hitler wanted to do and started to turn in German
positions to the Americans so that the Nazis could be defeated. Im planning to use this book to
fill in details within my interviews that give a more home line reason on why the German people
began to turn on Hitler and wanted the Nazi party defeated.
History Channel. The fall of the Third Reich. Retrieved on Feb. 2, 2015 from

This is a six-part documentary that starts with the rise of Hitler and the Nazi party to the fall of
Germany and Hitlers death in Berlin. This documentary spans the battle front and the domestic
front and why the war was killing the German people even if they were not fighting. I plan to use
this video to show how the German people suffered throughout the course of the war and how
the loss of the supply line and trains was a key factor on why the Nazi party could not send
supplies to the German soldiers and is what caused them to lose the furthest parts of the battle
front.

Michels, Keith. Personal Interview. Feb. 16, 2015.

Keith Michels is a history teacher at Walla Walla High School, in Walla Walla, Washington
teaching United States and World History. He has been teaching at the school for about 10 years.
He also has a Masters Degree from Gonzaga University in United States and World History. I
am going to be using his interview to explain how Germany lost in the western front against the
United States, and how the number of troops and amour the United States had over the Germans
was able to overrun the Germans with power to push them back across France and into Germany.
Why did Germany lose WW2? Retrieved on Feb. 10, 2015 from
http://www.answers.com/Q/Why_did_Germany_lose_World_War_2
This is a website that people use to blog questions to find the answers to what they are asking,
asking the question of why did Germany lose World War II, and I received an answer overnight
with a gentleman giving me five points on why he thinks Germany lost the war. From leadership
to not enough soldiers, he listed what I see as very key concepts on why the Germans lost. I am
using his information to help provide details on what happened to cause the German powerhouse
to fail and what key choices of leadership were called from the German side that cost them the
war.
