Metalworking Division Instructor/Writer, October 2008 to Present
Serves as the only Military Master Instructor (the highest level of Instructor credentials in the Ordnance Corps),
responsible for writing, editing and instructing lessons derivative of metalworking skills to over 550 Soldiers, Marines,
and Noncommissioned Officers attending resident Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training annually.
HEADQUARTERS, HEADQUARTERS COMPANY 70TH ENGINEER BATTALION- Fort Riley, KS
Maintenance Motor Sergeant, August 2007 to September 2008
Responsible for managing the upkeep and repair of over three hundred wheel vehicles, including over 100 pieces of
Route Clearance Equipment for which no doctrine maintenance instructions existed. Maintained fleet readiness above
95% for the entire 15 month deployment despite parts traffic being hindered and vehicles subjected to arduous terrain
and explosive enemies. Mentored 8 Soldiers and 4 Noncommissioned Officers in professional development and
career advancement. Advised Battalion Command Staff on recovery methods during emergencies, often speaking
directly with the senior leadership on the ground hundreds of miles away. Supervised 3 Civilian contractors
responsible for the repair of Route Clearance Equipment, many times advising them with correct repair procedures.
Directed Battlefield repairs on Route Clearance Equipment to keep the life saving equipment on the road and in the
fight. Performed duties as the Battalion Motor Sergeant in the absence of the Master Sergeant, chosen to hold the
position over six other senior NCOs.

Responsible for repairs and routine scheduled maintenance of a fleet consisting of over three hundred wheel and
tracked vehicles. Identified shortcomings and created a system which provided a faster service time with fewer errors,
eventually resulting in a 1% return rate annually. Supervised, managed and trained 3 metalworkers and 8 mechanics
and 3 Noncommissioned Officers. Controlled the parts inventory system for the entire battalion with 2 Soldiers.

Responsible for directing the completion and inspection of more than 1500 job orders annually from more than 25
customers requiring metalworking skills. Guided 6 Soldiers directly in the art of metalworking machining and welding.
