pH Project

Augusta, Rose, Jude

pH Meaning
PH is a measure of the acidity or basicity of an
aqueous solution. solution with ph less than 7
are said to be acidic and solution with a ph
greater than 7 are basic or alkaline.

Effects of pH on human body

Our body pH is probably one of the most important elements affecting our health status
and body function. pH reflects the events occurring in the body. Many conditions and
diseases have this one basic element in common, out of range pH levels.
In fact, pH influences every physiologic activity in your body, including
metabolism,
pain, and
diseases.
The speed of all biological and electrical reactions is under pH control.
For example, when the body environment is more acidic, electrical resistance lowers,
hence electricity moves faster.
Conversely, the more alkaline the body is the slower electricity in the body. Also, the more
acidic the blood, the quicker our body wants to get rid of the acidity, so a person's breaths
are quicker and shallower.
If a person's pH sways too far out of range the cells can be poisoned by their own toxins
and die.

Grape juice is one of my favorite drink. Grape juice is
really acidic. The pH is 4.24. A high consumption of it can
lead to weight gain and insulin resistance. However, it has a
lot of benefits that can help our health. It contains
antioxidants which protects us from certains diseases.

Lemon juice is the juice I drink the most in
the morning because it makes me feel good.
When you mix lemon juice with other food or
liquid tones down the sharp, sour taste and
reduces the impact of the high acid content of
your digestive system. Its pH of lemon juice is
3.93. It is also rich in Vitamin C.

Jude Pierre
I like drinking apple juice, and it does not make
any effect on me. The primary organic acids,
found in apple juice is malic acid. But it also
contains small amount of various other natural
acids, including phosphoric, citric and quinic
acids. Apple juice has an average of 4.88 ph.

Final Conclusion
In this project, we learned how calculate the
pH of a liquid with a formula which include log.
We now the varieties of use for log. Now, we
know the effects of acid on our body. Our
understanding of logarithms are much clearer.
