Mid-term reflection questions
At this point, we are about half way through course. Its always a good idea to stop and
reflect on what youve accomplished, as well as think about your goals for completing
the course successfully. In that spirit, please address the following questions:

What connections are you making within this class, and to other classes you are
taking or have taken since starting college?

The connections that I am making in this class mainly come from the things I learned in
UWRIT 1101. I am still working on being able to write quality papers that have a good
amount of content as well as a good length. I think this semestser I am seeing more of an
emphasis being placed on how my papers are structured as opposed to the content.
How would you describe your writing process? Has it changed at all since the
start of the semester?
My writing process mainly stems from sort of putting all of my thoughts into several
paragraphs that somehow turn into what seems like an essay. Then from that I sort of get
a revised version which results in like a shorter or more cleaned-up version of my
original thoughts. I don't think my writing style has changed very much I think that I
always do better on essays as opposed to research papers. I think that my writing is better
when I am asked to present a stance on something.
Reviewing the syllabus and your initial blog post, how would you describe the
extent to which you are meeting your general semester goals?
My general semester goals have not really been met suffieciently thus far because of the
fact that I am still lacking in the areas of time management. I definitely have to kick it up
several notches with almost no time at all. I think that I should channel all of my energy
into my end of the year portfolio.
Please discuss your thoughts on the feedback you have received from peers and
your instructor on your written work.
I usually get a good amount of feedback from my peers on my blog posts. I usually try to
present a new take on what every one else usually leans towards on the blogs. It was also
nice when we sort of played the speed desk game. I love getting ideas from other people
because thinking is really collaboration, not one single person can possibly know
everything.
What are you proud of in the work youve done in the course so far? This could
be your written work, class participation, collaboration, etc.
There is really no written work that I can say I viewed as especially outstanding as
coming from a point of honesty. I think when we get into little discussion groups in class
I try to give input to the best of my ability. So I think that is my strongest point in class
right now, working with peers.
This will be posted to your portfolio, and your answers should be substantive. Please let
me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
