OnemainmessagethatItakefromthetextisbeinggenerousandnicetootherswill
improveeveryone'slife.Alwayslearnsomeonesfullstoryfortheirpointofview.Somepeople

everyonehelpedhimgetthere.Everyonehasaroleinsocietyanditisanetofpeoplerelyingon

greaterthanever.Povertyisstillanissuearoundtheworldalongwiththerisingfromthelower
classes.Culturally,countriesallovertheworldarebecomingmoreidenticalwiththefasttransfer
ofinformation.Iwouldarguethatthestruggletoholdontohopeinimpoverishedareasisstilla
hugeissuesandcompletelyrelevanttoday.ThebookisconvincingbecauseKiddertakesa
regulardayinHarlemwithviolenceandpovertyandconnectsittothehorrendousviolencein
Burundi.Takesawfulsituationspeopleseeeverydaylikethehomelessortheimpoverishedand
showsastorybehindthemtohumanizeothersasindividualsratherthanagroup.ShowingDeos
