S In 2013, I got asked by my

teacher to take part in a String
Orchestra Competition on the theme
of Classical Era
A As I knew that I was going to be
needing much practice I practiced for
3 hours a day to be at the best of my
ability and when the time came to
play together once a week together I
tried to make no mistakes during the
rehearsals I had together with my
conductor and colleagues.
O I performed in the Perth Concert
Hall alongside my conductor and
colleagues with the Classical Era
theme and played the piece and did
a great job.
S Since I go to a Korean church
there are many kids there that are
my ages that can not speak fluent
English like I can because they were
born and raised in Korea but came
here due to their parents finding new
job openings here
A I thought of a way I could help
them so I decided to help them with
their English homework and hold
English tutoring classes so that they
could understand English better and
just get to know it
O In the end I am still tutoring
these kids but I have recently found
out that they are going back to Korea
in a years time but they have come a
very long way of not speaking much
English to speaking English at a
comfortable rate
S At Korean school, learning a

traditional dance or instrument was

essential for every student because it
was in the curriculum but we know
that not everyone is a dancer
A We had to choose a group and
practice either a dance or a
instrument and we thought a dance
would be easier since instruments
take a lot more then what we had.
We practiced our traditional dance
many time throughout the week
together and had a practice rehearsal
O We performed for an audience
and danced our hearts out to the
audience with our traditional Korean
clothes called Hanbok the elders
seemed very impressed

S In 2010 I had received an iPod for

my birthday however since I had
nothing like this before I had no idea
how to use it
A I knew a lot of my friends had
iPods and iPhones so I decided to ask
them what to do and how to use it
because I knew that this could help
my musical skills by gaining and
perfecting the skills of music
O I am now using my iPod to the
current 2014 as it was my late
fathers parting gift and I listen to
classical music everyday as I am now
doing a WACE music course at
Rossmoyne Senior High school
S At the beginning of Year 11, I was
very unsure of choosing either
subjects of Music or Cooking subjects
A I discussed the matter with my
councilor as well as my mother. My
mother had wanted me to do cooking

and not do music anymore as I have

already have more the 10 years
experience of music but to throw
away a skill that I have had for more
then a decade would be a waste
O When the time came to choose
my subject I chose Music. This is
because I know music quite well so I
had courage that I had what it took to
do WACE music at Rossmoyne
because I had so much experience
and knowledge with music instead of
cooking
S In year 10, semester 1 was not
good for me. I was failing
mathematics and I felt ashamed
because all my friends were in a
higher maths class. I always knew
that I was not strong in maths but I
felt ashamed because I though my
friends would make fun of me for
being stupid at maths
A I started maths tutoring and set
aside 1 hour for maths everyday and
got better every week
O in semester 2 I raised my grade
up from D to a C which was a big
improvement for me but now
currently in year 11 I have repeated
the same maths course and I have
currently on a B grade as well as
ranking 6th out of 62 people.
S I have been planning to teach
little children how to play violin since
I have a diploma to say that I can
teach
A I have started putting out
advertisements to teach children how
to play violin but only beginners. I
know that in the long run this would

give me experience with children as

well as a little bit of pocket money
O I have taught 5 children the
basics of how to play the violin and I
have earnt some cash and even
acquired some teaching skills

but I did not have a clue on how to
use a camera or didnt really know
how to take a photo without shaking
or moving the camera
A I put effort to develop my camera
skills by listening to my teachers
advice and borrowing the school
camera over the weekend and
practicing taking photos by focusing
on one point in the picture
O I improved a lot over the year
and I even learnt how to photoshop
the colors to make it more appealing
towards my audience and was
praised by my teacher I got an A
grade for both semester one and two
