PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP PLAN

2
Personal Statement

I am a hard-working, articulate and well organized individual. I am able to adapt to challenges when they arise while
remaining aware of professional roles and boundaries. I have the ability to implement treatment programs that increase a clients
ability to carry out activities or occupations independently, and with more confidence. I have extensive experiences working with
children of all ages in outpatient settings, early intervention/home settings, and school settings. I also have experience working with
adults in a skilled nursing facility, in acute care, and in the mental health setting. I am skillful in managing multiple caseloads,
prioritizing needs, and completing documentation in an efficient and timely manner.
Mission and Vision Statement
My vision as an occupational therapist is to engage in a continuous and active learning community, meeting the dynamic needs
of a diverse and global society in order to promote health, well-being, and participation in life through occupational engagement. My
mission is to be a reflective, creative, skillful, and an ethical occupational therapist. I will meet this mission by emphasizing evidencebased practice and professional reasoning, creating diverse and integrative experiences with clients and families, fostering
collaborative engagement with interdisciplinary team members, and promoting the importance of occupational participation to support
health and resilience for individuals, groups, and populations.
Strengths
I strive for harmony within groups. I am able to skillfully seek areas of agreement instead of conflict. I consider everyones
point of view and lead them towards a consensus. I am deliberative when making decisions and choices. I exercise good judgment and

carefully anticipate any obstacles. I am consistent. I treat everyone with consistency by adhering to the rules. I have the ability to
complete anything by concentrating my mental and physical energy on immediate challenges and opportunities. I show discipline,
working well with a routine and with structure. I am always prepared to contribute to any groups thinking or in activities. I am a
natural tactician, anticipating what needs to be done and executing the plan. Lastly, I am optimistic. I am very inspired by the future
and what it could be. I am able to transform whatever I believe is possible into tangible outcomes.
Growth Needs
I spend more time on certain tasks to obtain perfection; however, I have confidence in my decisions and am able to work
efficiently. Another area for growth include, knowing my limits when accepting new projects or tasks. I get easily excited when new
projects interest me and I tend to take on many responsibilities. However, I have developed great multi-tasking skills and can apply
my focus in many different areas and contribute meaningful ideas.
Leadership Style
I select the leadership style of situational leadership because I am highly adaptable in many situations. I can effectively adapt
my leadership style to appropriately match the development level of my colleagues. I have the capacity to set high but attainable goals
for an individual and/or group. I am also willing to take responsibility for the task as well as provide relevant education to an
individual and/or group for the task. I will coach, motivate, and lead my colleagues.
