 I Know 
• I know that the woman is very upset and in distress , there
is a fire behind her that is burning rubble. I also know
that there are people behind her in a similar situation,
thee home have been destroyed and they are desperate
waiting for aid and support. I know that this is not a
particularly rich area as the house look small and not
very well made as they are made of cheap materials and
do not have amazing roofs as they are made out of
metal.
 But I don’t know 
• I don’t know who she is or where in Haiti she is. I also do
not know why she is upset, she may have lost a family
member or her home, this picture just doesn’t tell me. I
don’t know what they are burning other than rubble, it
could be anything in the fire. I also don’t know if they
have received aid yet or if the people around her are in a
better or worse situation compared to her.
 I Know 
• I know that the American army is giving out aid, the aid is
water in this case. I know that they are loading it on to
something to put it in a plane to send it off to Haiti. I
know that they are on a runway because of the
markings. I also know that there are soldiers going with
water to Haiti as I can see there rucksacks.
 But I don’t know 
• I don’t know who the soldiers are or what there jobs are in
the army. I asodon’t know who has sent the aid or how it
has got to where it is. I don’t know who the aid is being
sent to in Haiti. I don’t know whether this will get to the
people in time to save them. I also don’t know what the
soldiers are going to do after the aid has been sent. I
don’t know if they will help with recovery or whether
they are just helping to get the aid to a plane.
