Part 2: Based on your survey, what technologies would you want to learn and why? Look at
potential job descriptions and postings to inform your decision.
After looking at job postings, I am most interested in learning to use at least one type of online course
authoring software and one type of basic web development software. I am interested in a position as an
instructional designer. An instructional design position is often synonymous with an instructional
technology position. All of these employers are looking for someone who is capable of learning these tools
quickly based on some previous experience. I am already more familiar with the in-classroom tools such as

document cameras and Socrative. While I would like a bit more experience with SmartBoards, I think the
online learning and development tools take precedence.
