Stock Market Game Notebook

Each team will create a notebook as the 10 weeks progresses. This notebook will
be due on ________________________ . The team will be responsible for working
together to complete all sections of the notebook. If problems arise concerning the
participation/lack of participation by members of the team, be sure they come to the
immediate attention of the teacher so that responsibilities may be assigned equally.
The following will be required in your notebook for the points listed.

Rationalization for buying/selling each stock

This should be written (or typed) in paragraph form. It must
include the following:
What company?
How many shares?
How much did it cost?
How did we learn about this company?
Why did we invest in it?

average daily volume traded
S&P ranking
Product information
Future plans of company
If you sell, add a short paragraph explaining what factors
influenced you to sell.

Graphs

(10 points)

Must be completed for each company the SMG team buys stock in.
Will be constructed as a line graph using the closing price each day
the stock is owned.
May be drawn by hand or computer generated.

Research
SMG team will find 2 articles from newspapers, magazines, or the
internet about or affecting a company that the team invested.
Each article will be cut out neatly and mounted on construction
paper
Articles will be summarized on the back of construction paper.

o Briefly who, what, where, when.
o How will this affect your investment?

There are many more things that can be added to your SMG notebook. If you
have an idea of something else you want to add, please see your teacher to get your idea
approved and assigned an extra credit value. Creativity and extra effort can definitely
play a big part in raising your grades!!!
Do all parts of your notebook neatly and accurately. These will help you succeed
in the SMG as well as work through some important math concepts. It is important that
all members of the team work together on these.
