Describe why adjectives are used in texts and how they can enhance meaning.
Create a collage with images and text using Pic Collage on an iPad.
Teachers Prior Preparation/Organisation:
All iPads to be charged

2. Ask them to collect their iPads and return to the carpet, sitting quietly.
3. Tell the students that today we will be learning about nouns and
adjectives.
Today we are going to talk about nouns and adjectives.
4. Generate a class discussion to engage the students and encourage
them to start thinking
Who knows what a noun is?
Can you give me an example?
What is an adjective?
What word could you use to describe the person next to you?
5. Repeat back to students what a noun is and what an adjective
You use a noun to name something and an adjective to describe it
6. Teacher will then number students either 1, 2 or 3 and explain that
your number is the group you will be in.
7. Ask the students to split up into their groups and allocate an area for
each group to sit in.
pictures of their topic and then add a text box over each picture. The
text box will include the name of the image (noun) and a list of
describing words (adjectives).
You need to find five images of your topic. Then you will add a text
box over each image. In these text box I want you to write the name
of your image (noun) and then five words that describe your image
(adjectives).
Have a student repeat back how many images and how many
adjectives they need to include.
4. Show the students an example that was made early.
5. Tell the students they can discuss ideas about their images with their
group, but they all have to make their own collage.
6. Monitor the students as they work to ensure they stay on task, assist
with spelling and prompt for other adjectives.
Assessment: (Were the lesson objectives met? How will these be judged?)
