dependency recovery and
development of independent
sober living skills; including
goals such as: identification of
plans for productivity and
living self-sufficiently. Selfsufficient living is identified as
financial independence,
productivity towards
career/educational goals,
working and/or
volunteering. To that end,
family recovery and
involvement of parents is
necessary and encouraged
through multiple avenues
throughout treatment.

Adolescence is a critical time of rapid
physical, social, and emotional
change during which an adolescent
may be especially susceptible to selfharm, depression, drug and alcohol
abuse, impulsive or dangerous
behaviors. When a teens behavior
reaches a crisis point and becomes
harmful to themselves, their
environment, and/or others, our
inpatient unit provides around the
clock safety and treatment to stabilize
the crisis. Inpatient stays are typically
3-7 days, depending on individual
needs.
Incorporates schools, police
department, fire department, parents,
teachers and students to enact a
drunk driving accident. Every
student takes part either as an
individual who is in the accident, a

opportunities to create a supportive
and safe school environment. PAL
supports students healthy lifestyles
by building resiliency and assets
through youth leadership, mentoring,
conflict resolution, cross-age
teaching, peer helping, service
learning, and prevention activities.
The PAL program can enhance and
support all student leadership
programs in schools.
To provide students with the best
prevention tools possible to deal with
the issues of underage drinking, other
drug use, risky and impaired driving,
and other destructive decisions.
The Administrative Office of the
Courts (AOC) developed and
implemented the Real DUI Court in
Schools Project in 2006 with funding
from the California Office of Traffic
Safety (OTS). The goal of the
program is to lower the number of
teen Driving Under the Influence
(DUI) offenses in California by
effecting change in the attitudes and
behavior of youth, for whom traffic
collisions are the leading cause of
death. This is accomplished by
educating teens and parents on the
dangers of drinking and DUI through
live DUI court trials and sentencing
programs conducted in schools.
These programs are among the more
promising approaches in DUI
prevention today.
