So the second question is, in your view, is the kind of child slavery discussed in this

case absolutely wrong no matter what, or is it only relatively wrong, i.e., if one happens
to live in a society (like ours) that disapproves of slavery?
I believe that no matter where you live, no matter what kind of culture you are familiar
with, slavery of any kind is absolutely wrong whether the society approves or
disapproves of it. Especially since the workers involved are minors, the more sensitive
the issue becomes. The children in Africa are also human beings, just like us. They also
have their rights, the right to live, the right to speak up, and especially the right for
freedom. As humans, we have the ability to distinguish what is right from wrong. In this
case, the issue about child slavery is really immoral especially now that you know how
the children are treated. However, throughout history, slavery has been a common
practice across the world. If the young boys in this case had been treated better, for
example, better working condition, better sleeping condition, and better treatment in
general, would this article ever have appeared? Probably not, I think the major moral
issue here is the treatment of the boys, and kidnapping them from different places, and
making them work rigorously against their will. If you look in that perspective, then it is
just unjustifiable in all accounts.
