*You will be completing three separate items for your final project.
*Each item is worth 100 points as a major assignment.
1. Two letters for our class A-Z project. Clear topic. Neatly illustrated. Clear three sentence analysis.
2. One item from the list below. Decide on a partner(s). Let me know the specificsand fill them in on the
backside rubric.
Character Scrapbooking

Quote and Lesson Book

Character Profile Poster

(1-2 people)

(2 people)
Prepare a scrapbook that one of
the main characters might have
kept. You must have 5 items with
detailed explanations and analysis
about those items. Show how it
reveals their character.

Timeline
(1-2 people)

Prepare a book that contains

important quotes from the book.
Decide how these quotes show a
particular life lesson within the
context of the story. Each page
should have a quote, hand-drawn
picture, and an analysis.
Exploring Setting Modeling
Bridgeport
(up to 3 people)

Create a character profile poster

including the following elements: a
picture, a variety of physical
descriptions from the novel (use
evidence), a list of adjectives, an
explanation of the function that
character plays, a quotation about
them and a quotation from them.

Postcards
(1-2 people)
Imagine you are taking a summer
vacation to the main setting of
Maniac Magee. Design a set of
three postcards from the trip
illustrating and explaining what you
and your family would do on this
vacation. The frontside needs to be
an illustrated drawing, and the
backside should be in letter format
with at least five sentences.

Identify the seven most

important events in the novel
and make a timeline. You need
to include headings and a brief
summary and an analysis. Be
sure to decorate your time line
with colored pictures and
decorations for each event.

Construct a detailed map or a model

of Bridgeport. Include the homes of
the major characters, spots like the
zoo, Finsterwalds, Cobbles Corner,
etc. Label the buildings. Model
must be creative and colorful. You
need to have identified and provide
analysis for at least ten locations.

Storyboard/Comic Strip
(1-2 people)

Starting a Business
(1-2 people)

Any other creative ideas?

Select an event from the novel and

create a storyboard scene/ scenes
to represent a graphic novel. You
must create a minimum of 10
frames for your storyboard. You
may either create your own board
(to draw your frames by hand) or
you may use a template online.

Imagine if one of the main

characters in Manic Magee
wanted to start a summer
business. What would it be?
Write a business plan with the
goal for the business, items or
services sold with prices, and
supplies needed. Design a poster
for the business.

Sure, just run it past me and well talk

about some possibilities.
