OKMS

LIBRARY

2014-2015, Volume for Parents No. 13, Issue I

MISSION:
To create a learning destination where young
minds read, explore information, and use technology in
order to think and act both locally and globally.

Welcome to the new school year!

How can we help your student to be successful?

Pads! The library has five new iPads available for students to
use in the library. iPads are a great way to conduct research, to
read ebooks, or to complete homework. Parents and students
are welcome to attend Tech Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 to
learn ways to use this device.

astle Club Reading Program! The Castle Club meets during

PEAK and lunch time. This is a non-competitive reading
club; basically, the group meets and decides on a book.
Book discussion groups are then formed and guiding questions are
provided to promote thoughtful participation. CASTLE stands for

Choose what you read; Ask, discuss, agree, or disagree; Share

thoughts on the blog; Talk about what matters to you; Lunch,
cookies and friends; Eat and meet in the library! Encourage your
child to sign up in the library since group size is limited.

ew books and a new ebook app! Visit the library website

listed below for direct links to the new app and to Destiny
where you will find out about new titles such as The
Fantastic Four, Wherever You Are, On the Night You Were Born, Ali,
Nest of Serpents, and The Cabinet of Curiosities.
