the American Revolution, the French
Revolution, the Civil War, and Reconstruction. In the next week or two we will be discussing the Great Depression and the Impact it had on the United States. Here is a little preview The 1920s was an era of great fun and amazing discoveries in the United States. As time passed, all this fun would soon come to an end when the US stock market crashed on September 4, 1929. The Great Depression will devastate the entire United States. We will continue this discussion in class, however until then think about how the United States will recover from this devastating event in history.
During this next semester, our workload
may seem to be a lot, however, as time will progress you will see that it is not as much as it really seems. During this semester we will have two major assignments that will count as a big part of this semesters grades. To start out with, this semester we will be writing a research paper. For this assignment students will be expected to choose a topic from a list chosen by me. If any student has a request for a topic that is not on the list, they must come to me as soon as possible. For this assignment I will not be looking too much for the who and the how, but for the why or what about the topic. The other assignment students will be working on this semester is a video group project. In this project students will be asked to make a commercial or infomercial about a certain time period in American History. Students will be expected to also write up a two page report about their project. I will be grading students on creativity, historical accuracy, and if the student has convinced me about wanting to be in the certain time period they choose. Projects will be viewed during class. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me.
