Hands Across the Water, January 2015 April 2015

Social Work Intern, I work closely with the foster care workers within the agency. I assist the foster care
workers in various ways depending on the needs of each worker. One of my main tasks within the
agency is to supervise parent visits between birth parents and the children who are currently placed in
foster care. I also have the opportunity to attend trainings in order to strengthen my education about
working in the field, shadow workers at court and in family team meetings, and gain extra experience
working with a variety of populations including birth parents, foster parents, and children.
