Career Research Essay
Being a teacher is the best opportunity for anyone that has a love for children and want to
do the best they can to be successful in this career. Being a teacher means that you have the
opportunity to help children. You basically teach them the subjects needed in the grade you are
teaching. In this career you find methods to help the children learn the material but do it in an
easy way so they know what has to be done. Everyone that decides to work with children and
want to become a teacher have to be patient which is one of the biggest parts of becoming a
teacher. This is a perfect career for the people that enjoy spending time with children and want to
do the best they can to help them.
To be successful in this career some of the skills that are need are: instructing, speaking,
learning strategies, critical thinking, etc. Some other abilities that are needed for this career are:
Oral Expression, Oral Comprehension, Speech Clarity, etc. All of these characteristics are needed
for this career because you are working with children and have to make sure that everything their
being taught they understand what they have to do. Being a great teacher and being able to help
children should always be the main goal of a teacher to have their students be successful.
To become an elementary school teacher a person needs a bachelors degree. However, if
someone wants to advance their career, they may need a different degree. These career choose
takes about four to six years to complete. Palomar College and Miramar College are some of the
colleges that offer what is needed to begin studying for this career that are close to where I live.
Some universities that offer this career are California State University; San Marcos and the

University of San Diego. These are some of the schools that are needed after finishing the two
years in college. The average salary in California for an elementary school teacher is about
$63,010. The salary may vary depending on the area being worked in.
Some careers that are related to elementary school teaching are: teacher assistant,
kindergarten teacher, recreation workers, specialist teacher and other of the like. These are
similar because they are involve helping children be successful. One of the careers that interest
me the most that are related to my first choice is specialist teacher. This career is has to do with
people that work with children and young people that are deaf or hearing impaired. The main
goal is to find ways to help them have the ability to do the same thing as others and be able to
still learn and live with their disability. This career interests me as well because I will have the
ability to help children you need it the most.
Based on my personality test survey, my qualities are is being a attentive listener,
developing and following a well laid out plan and being able to know how to react to certain
situations. According to my personality test a teaching career would be the best career for me
because I have the abilities needed to be a good teacher. A teacher has to follow a laid out plan
when it comes to teaching the kids the material; is an ability that I have that is useful to become
an amazing teacher and be successful. In my opinion being a teacher would be the best choose
for me due to my love for children.
