Teaching Experiences
Early Childhood Adjunct Professor
Kent State University, Kent, Ohio
2015
While teaching third grade for the last three years, I teach an applied mathematical methods course for Kent State
University Early Childhood department. My course focuses on preparing future teachers to teach mathematics in an
elementary classroom.
Third Grade Teacher:
Worley Elementary, Canton, Ohio
2011-Present
While teaching third grade for the last four years, I have obtained and implemented an abundance of technology in my
classroom. Last year, my students and I worked together to raise over $5,000 dollars to buy Chrome Books for each
student in the class. This allowed me to turn my classroom into a 1:1 flipped classroom. I have also worked with my
district and colleagues on creating best practices when implementing technology in the classroom. Another
accomplishment I achieved with my students happened this year through a national math competition. Out of over
14,000 classrooms and entrants across America, my math class finished in 17th and 19th position.
Kindergarten Teacher:
Belden Elementary, Canton, Ohio
2009-2011
Taught all-day Kindergarten inclusion class with 1/3 of my students on an I.E.P. I developed a well-rounded literacy
program that involved technology using smart boards and the Internet. I created hands-on small, multi-ability group
work where I differentiated instruction. 97% of my general ed. students left my classroom reading on or above first
grade level.
LD Tutor:
Davey Elementary, Kent, Ohio
2008-2009
I taught students from first grade to fifth grade who were on an I.E.P. I worked closely with both the general and special
education teachers, to create standards based lessons for both inclusion and pull out settings.
