Andrea did a great job of communicating with me, was very respectful and always willing to help out in any way she
could while she was in my classroom.

Andrea put forth a great effort in getting to know the students in our class in the short time she was with us. She was

Andrea was extremely prepared to teach her lessons. She demonstrated an excellent understanding of our units of study in
reading and writing. She taught in a way that was familiar to the students, using their prior knowledge to scaffold her
instruction. In order to accomplish this, she asked questions and was very observant and reflective when planning her
lessons for our second graders. She demonstrated good teaching practices by giiving expicit instuction, modeling her
teaching points to our students. She was very focused in her lessons, checking for understanding with the students along
the way.

Andrea used individual student conferences to see if her teaching was effective. During these student conferences, she
was able to give suggestions to students and choose students who could epxlain what they tried in their writng during our
share time.
Final Comments/Suggestions for Candidate:
I felt fortunate to have Andrea work in my classroom. She asked thoughtful questions and I was extremely
impressed with her ablility to connect with students and quiclky learn the routines of our literacy block.
