What is the genre of the book? How can you

tell? NOT just fiction but biography, history,
historical fiction, mystery, science, romance,
fantasy, science fiction, humor, poetry, horror,
epic, memoir, thriller, dystopian, utopian,
sports, coming of age, etc.
The genre of The Fellowship of the Ring is
fantasy. I can tell it is fantasy because there are
characters in the book who are not human, such
as Legolas who is an elf and Gimli who is a
dwarf. There are also wizards and magic in the
book.

What is the setting of the book and how does the

setting impact/effect the story? (Why is the setting

somewhere else?)

The setting of To Kill a Mockingbird is a fictional town

in Alabama called Maycomb. It is important that the
book be set in Alabama because of the race issues
that take place in the book. Tom Robinson is a black
man who is accused of a crime and will be found
guilty due to his skin color, not because he actually
did the crime. Also, the story had to happen in a very
small town so that the people all knew about one
anothers lives and are tightly connected to each

whether or not he has the courage and strength he
must have to carry through with the mission of
returning the ring to the fires of Mordor. The conflict is
resolved in the final book when Frodo, with Sams help,
is able to return the ring to the firesalthough he has
to fight Gollum to do so.

One external conflict that Katniss faces is when Kato
tries to kill her. She climbs up a tree and drops a
tracker-jacker nest. The wasp-like creatures then
attack Kato and she is able to get away.
