A plan for a typical exam brief:

Start with a proposal say which brief you

have chosen and why.
Next do planning write out a time plan for
how you will spend the time ie: one hour
planning / research, one hour on observational
drawing, etc.
Then research your topic. Make notes as you
go.
Now do thought pooling identify visual
elements from your thought pooling for
example if your brief was about recycled
materials you should have a thought pool with
ideas like logos / things that can be recycled /
why we recycle.
Do some observational drawings of
relevant things.
Evaluate as you go write down the
strengths and weaknesses of your work as you
go along.
Use mixed media draw / paint /collage /
photograph
Show alternative ideas one will not be
enough.
Get your final idea down on paper. Print off all
your work to submit.
