Task: Write an essay with the following task: should 17 year old teens be granted a driving
license? 200-250 words
During the last decades, the number of 17 year old teenagers getting a driving
license has dramatically increased. This is not a bad thing, but the opposite because it is
really helpful, not just for the teens, but for their parents too.
First of all, driving a car gives teens a lot of freedom and independence. They can
go wherever they want, whenever they want, and they have no dependence on public
transport, like buses.
In addition to being a fun activity to do, 17 year old teens driving can be very helpful
for parents. Children can help in different occasions, for example: going to the
supermarket, cleaning the car or taking their siblings to school.
On the other hand, some people may argue that, as they are under 18, they are not
legally responsible for the crushes or damages they may produce with their actions. The
legal responsible ones (until they reach the majority of age) are the parents, who may
receive (and pay) if they get a fine.

Taking everything into account, it is totally positive for 17 year old teenagers to have
a driving license. It is not only helpful for them (to develop their freedom and
independency), but for their parents too, in case they need help.
