Manufacture and testing of the valves shall be in accordance with API 6D, API 600
and API 598 standards. Flanges shall be ANSI B 16.5
The valve shall be supplied with matching counter flanges, bolts, nuts & washers.
Materials and test certificates shall be furnished.
The valves shall be offered for general inspection and pressure testing, by NAL
engineers at vendors place.
The vendor shall quote the price and separately the applicable taxes, duties, other
charges, transportation up to NAL, Bangalore.
The vendor shall provide the details of the actuator. It can be ROTORK or
equivalent
Relevant catalogs and drawings shall be furnished along with the tender.
The vendor shall provide the list of customers using their valves

Details of the electrics:

The supply of valves shall be complete with drive motor of adequate rating, torque
and limit switches, gear boxes, clutch, hand wheel (marked with arrows for openclose), shafts and strain releases to suit the type of the valve offered.
The codes and the standards shall be followed are IS 9334-86 (Electric motor
operated actuators) and IS 13947-93 (specifications for low voltage switch gear/
control gear)
The enclosures shall be suitable for the installation out door area as per IP67,
NEMA 6, dust type, weather proof suitable for outdoor use without necessity of
canopy.
The body shall be marked with flow direction.
Reversal of the direction of rotation of valves shall be achieved by suitable
precision gears or reversing contactors starters. The gears shall be manufactured
out of metals; fibre gears are not acceptable
The valves shall be suitable for hand wheel operation with suitable interlocks to
defeat the electrical operation in case of power supply failure.
Motor shall be suitable for three phase 440 V 10%, 50 Hz 3% supply, squirrel
cage induction motor with class F insulation temperature rise limited to class B.
Motor shall incorporate features to give burnout protection by direct temperatures
sensing. The motor shall be designed for full voltage direct online start, with
starting current limited to 6 times full load current. The motor starting torque shall
not be less than 500% of rated full load torque.
2 nos. of torque limit switches, one for each direction of travel, self locking and
adjustable torque type.
4 nos. of end of travel limit switches (rotary drum type capable of being set at any
point between fully open and fully closed position) shall be provided to prevent the
hammering of valve seats.

Auxiliary switches with minimum two NO, two NC shall be provided. All internal
wiring shall be done with insulated copper cable with terminal and shall be brought
out to a fully sealed electrical enclosure for external wiring. Necessary double
compression glands and tinned copper lugs are also included in the scope of
supply.
Built in push button to close and open and local/ off/ remote selector switch with
pad locking facility to prevent unauthorized operation of the valve shall be provided
on the valve housing.

Pneumatic Actuator details


Actuation should be through air aided spring return pneumatic piston actuator with air
accumulator and necessary accessories for faster operations.
The valve should close in case of either electrical or command air failures (fail to close)
Available air pressure 6 to 8 bar
Actuator should have manual override.
I/P CONVERTER: I/P converters shall be provided. I/P converters shall be suitable for
converting 4-20 mA DC signal to 0.2 - 1 kg/cm. Enclosure protection class shall be IP65.
Positioner: Pneumatic Positioner shall be force balance type and shall be side mounted
on the yoke of the value. Positioner shall be field conversible from direct to reverse acting.
Positioner shall be provided with bypass where output signal to valve actuator is one each
for air supply, control signal and output signal to actuator. Pneumatic connections shall be
NPT, ANSI B2.1.
Position transmitter: Electronic smart position transmitter shall be provided. Position
transmitter shall be suitable for converting 0 to 100 % position into 4-20 mA DC signal.
24 V DC excitation should be two-wire loop. Enclosure protection class shall be IP-65.

General
The valves shall be supplied with matching counter flanges (Carbon Steel). The valves
shall be suitable for both horizontal and vertical installation.
The vendor shall quote the price for valve and separately mention the applicable taxes,
duties, and etc transportation up to NAL, Bangalore.

The valves shall be offered for inspection and pressure testing, by NAL Engineers at
vendors place as per standards.
The vendor shall provide the list of customers using their valves
