Elementary Music Grading Rubric

The following rubric will be altered to align with any school districts existing grading
policy.

Excellent
Always uses good posture when singing or playing the recorder.
Remembers to bring recorder to class. (3rd - 5th)
Can play the recorder notes correctly with correct hand positions.
(3rd-5th)

Follows directions.
Matches pitches and sings with a good, clear tone.
Echoes and reads rhythms correctly.
Participates and contributes in class.
Can identify basic musical symbols and their meanings.
Can distinguish between high and low, fast and slow, loud and soft.
Meets the objectives of the music lessons as they are presented.
Satisfactory

Usually uses good posture when singing or playing the recorder.
